Vibration
"Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates."
Historical interpretation
In older Hermetic and occult thought, everything is graded by fineness of vibration, from dense matter up through subtle spirit. Change happens by shifting the rate or quality of vibration. Magic, prayer, music, incense, and talismans were all understood as tools to alter the vibrational field so that certain outcomes become easier.
Current-day interpretation
Physics now describes matter itself as energetic activity. On the human level, we experience "vibration" as mood, tone, and atmosphere. A conversation, a home, a café, a city block all have a feel. We continuously enter, absorb, and emit these emotional and mental "frequencies" in how we speak, move, and show up.
Relatable example
Think about walking into a room right after two people have been fighting. Nobody has to say anything. You can feel the sharp, tight atmosphere in your shoulders and stomach. Later that day you walk into a room where friends are laughing over a card game. Your body loosens by itself. Same body, different "vibrations" in the space, and you shift without a single word of explanation.
